Mr. Cooper graduated from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles in 2010 after earning his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and American History from Bates College. He gained extensive experience defending against independent contractor claims as a partner at a statewide workers’ compensation defense firm prior to joining Wai, Connor & Hamidzadeh, LLP and was recognized as a Thomson Reuters Super Lawyers® Rising Star in 2022 and 2023. Mr. Cooper has practiced workers’ compensation law exclusively since 2012, though his legal background includes civil litigation and federal class actions. He is a member of the State Bar of California, the United States District Court for Northern and Central Districts of California, and the United States Court of Appeal for the Ninth Circuit. Mr. Cooper enjoys playing basketball, rooting for the Dodgers and Lakers, and spending time with his wife, daughter, twin boys, and pet pigs.
